A recording has surfaced in which Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio pokes fun at the Feds for probing possible civil rights violations on the part of his immigration patrols, and bragging about how many ee-lee-guls he’s put away in a 2009 speech before an anti-illegal immigration group. He even goes on to say he “arrested 500 more just for spite.”

Arpaio has also made recent news for continuing to publicly discredit the authenticity of President Obama’s birth certificate. Honestly — HOW AND WHY IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE?!

It’s astonishing that such unapologetically racist assholes as Joe Arpaio can still be elected for public office. I fear for our nation.
