Introducing Tumblr Home, Our New Home on Android

We know you hate having to tap on the Tumblr app icon before displaying memes, Pokemon GIFs, gay porn, and anonymous questions on your smartphone. We know you seldom, if ever, use other apps. We’ve been listening, and we’ve created a new home for Tumblr on your smartphone, inspired by you.

Introducing Tumblr Home
Tumblr Home brings you the GIFs you want, right from the moment you pick up your smartphone. Bypassing the lockscreen, Tumblr Home displays an ever-present stream of images, reblog threads, queer theory, slacktivism, hot guys, and question responses from the bloggers you follow, all on your home screen. Use gestures to interact with the feed, such as double-tap to Like, two-finger swipe to reblog, and eleven-finger tap to mark NSFW.

Message Heads
As you browse Tumblr or use other apps, messages and questions from other bloggers appear on top of everything else you’re doing. Simply tap on their avatar and the conversation will expand, allowing you to tell “Anonymous” how big your dick is while adding tags to a delicious reblog.

App Launcher
Need to open another app? No problem! Simply return to Tumblr Home, tap anywhere to display your avatar, swipe your avatar up, enter your Tumblr password, dismiss a targeted ad, and you’ll be greeted by a somewhat customizable grid of non-Tumblr app icons (developer’s note: due to a bug in Android 4.0 and higher, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and WordPress app icons will not function at launch).
